I don't understand what the argument is about: A man who fucks a 16 y.o. girl is not a pedophile. Period. It can be statutory rape according to laws in some states but it cannot ever be considered as pedophilia. Pedophilia is when a 6 y.o. girl asks for an ice-cream cone and you put cold maple syrup on your dick and give her that.
In Islam they can marry 13 y.o. girls. If they are past puberty, it means nature has gifted them with the ability to reproduce and so, they are no longer children. They are considered children because we live in a complicated society that requires complicated decision making, so 18 y.o. is required to understand all the implications of having sex.
