Question for Muslims

So I'm about 50% through this Abridged Koran by Bill Warner... holy fuck was Mohammad a megalomaniac nutjob.

Here's a quote from Warner's Two-Hour Koran (probably also in Abridged Koran):

"A Summary of Mohammed’s Armed Events

In a nine year period Mohammed personally attended 27 raids. There were 38 other battles and expeditions. This is a total of 65 armed events, not including assassinations and executions, for an average of one violent event every six weeks. He died without an enemy left standing."

All in self-defence, of course.

Yeah I saw that towards the end of the book, which I finished today. Overall, it was a good introduction to the Koran but I'm a bit skeptical as to how much of Warner's views influenced what passages and translations he chose to eye in on. That doesn't negate that some 80% of the Koran is about hell, fire, and eternal punishment, but concerning the historical life of Muhammad, I think less is probably known than Warner's book conveys. And generally I wish it would have been more thorough in addressing Muslim scholars and what they'd likely cite as counter-arguments because clearly many would disagree with a lot of his analysis. Still, it was a decent intro (though the Koran itself was incredibly boring and I'm soooo happy to be done with it).
