Mary McCarthy recalls worrying about the same problem in her autobiography Memories of a Catholic Girlhood . She didn't want her protestant grandfather to hear the good catholic news for fear he would not believe and therefore go to hell. In ignorance, he was safe.
That's the trick of it though, the believer has to say it on less he be deemed "lukewarm" (Jesus threatens he will spit these out into hell). Once the unbeliever has heard it they are obliged to join either to put their freind/relatives mind at rest or their own.
Pretty sneaky huh? You've all been told, so now you can't get away with it.
