My family usually just labels everyone as a Christian. You can be a good Christian, a bad Christian, or in denial. Haha
Luckily my mum doesn't hate atheists very much, I'd say the worst thing I could to to her would be to convert to Islam, she hates muslims with a passion. I hope one day I'll come out of the closet, I think reactions won't be that bad as I'm thinking they will
