The whole world is the default. Those who want to believe in weird shit should go to a special place and congregate with others as they do now in church.

I have around 400 index cards with plans for a congregational "church" (the building, not the dogma) where intellectuals gather. It's a really fun thought: a sort of meeting place where people donate to learn from scientists and musicians; where there is a daycare where education is important; where people can just get-together and do charitable things, etc.
I probably won't carry it out, due to my gnarly ADD, but I don't see anything wrong with something like that. No dogma necessary.
ETA: I wouldn't call it a "church", though. Not in a million years.
