"What happens after we die?"
If, by 'we', you mean humanity, then I see two options:
1- We annihilated each other and took all remaining wildlife on the planet with us, so this becomes a dead planet... maybe a few bacteria remain, so life practically starts over.
2- some mass extinction event, like the previous on this planet... some lifeforms get a chance to evolve free from previously existing pressures.
If, by 'we', you mean each individual, then, typically, the dead person, now a cadaver goes to the hospital morgue, awaiting the retrieval by the mortuary people that the deceased family hired to handle the body and bury or cremate it. There's usually a funeral, depending on the social norm it's either a happy occasion or a somber and sad one. The people around have to adapt to the absence of the dead person... life goes on.
