The reason why the universe could not always have existed because if it did you would have had an eternity to come into being before now, so you should have already happened.
Then explain to me, without resorting to unsubstantiated magic, how God could have existed for an eternity and yet we're not yet out of time.
There is no way you can possibly appreciate how nonsensical your position sounds, can you? Did you know it is possible to be theist without believing self-contradictory or just plain stupid things? I won't ask you to become an atheist. But please work on improving your theology.
