Long been known practically. The only place it makes sense to pump CO2 is in a production space with substantial climate control. A greenhouse, well built hoophouse, etc. Given increases in temperature (thus decreases in energy cost to maintain temperature control) - and increase in precipitation (availability and cost of water being a major cost - right behind labor - the major cost) - The productive yield of greenhouse structures shouldincrease dramatically (as season extension is dramatically increased in duration), the cost to producer should simultaneously decrease, the roi should improve. Controlled production spaces also offer solutions to many of the contributing factors of climate change.
I think it's moderately amusing that one way to make a production model viable is to fail to invest in it's ability to curtail a problem that will yield a scenario in which it -is- economically viable, even preferable. Also, that if the model reached viability and -was- invested in, it would have the effect of reducing the factors present which contribute to it's viability........lol
