OK, here we go...my take on the silliness of the atheophobic (like that word, BTW):
Some christians speak in "tongues" -- does that make it a TENET of christianity? Must you DO SO to be a true christian?
Just because SOME atheists choose to do this (I think it's a perfect "in your face" to theists, too...!), doesn't mean a damned thing to atheism as a whole. Of course, that theist won't buy that argument, so I'd default to the in-your-face point if view.
