You've mistaken a belief held with conviction for knowledge, and you'll never be able to grow beyond it. That's what's sad.
And if you never bother to investigate your moral precepts or soteriological bases- say, by deciding that absolutely nothing could convince you that you're wrong- then you'll never have so much as an opportunity to even get closer to a moral life. How can you be trying, if you won't even consider the possibility of changing?
