Because you are doing it by suspension of critical thinking.

You're exactly as wrong today as you will be in the future, is the problem. You've decided you can never be wrong, and that level of closed off intellectual dishonesty is genuinely sad. You don't know if you're living a moral life, you don't know if sin is even a thing, but since you don't bother to investigate, since you're already right right right and nothing will convince you otherwise, you'll never learn.

You've mistaken a belief held with conviction for knowledge, and you'll never be able to grow beyond it. That's what's sad.

So you live a "non-sinning life," do you? Thinking

Also, are you implying that if you didn't believe in god, you would discard your morals and live an immoral life? Is god the only thing holding you back from giving in to your base nature and becoming a monster?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

The devil's downfall was pride.

It is not prideful to have absolute knowledge.
You have that about your own name.
Does that make you proud?

I am NOT from the generation brainwashed in relativism, as you might discern.
So, for me, up is never down, east is never west.

It is the epitome of pride to claim absolute knowledge. Or pure delusion.

This is exactly what the believers in other woo say. "You can't see it if you don't believe".

You delusion is overwhelmingly strong.

No, being a closed-minded twat is what is sad. You are sad.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

obviously you never bothered reading my other posts, even science acknowledges healing can occur based on belief, otherwise known as the "placebo effect".

I already posted the article from the Scientific American...go read it.

And yet again you mischaracterize the science behind it. We don't know why the placebo effect works, so stop saying you have the answer. The observation is that certain recovery can happen in certain situations that are not fully explained by science right now. Just saying "they get healed because they believe it" is what you tell a kindergartner who is first learning about placebo effect. And you certainly can't take the unknown mechanism of the placebo effect and extrapolate it to miracles and other horseshit like that.

Yet you start engaging in debates with people on that very subject?

I guess the MO is thus pontificating then, no?

Why are you here, then?

The reason I came here is because I am quite interested in listening to debating. Recently a found this fourm and there was question asking for a christian point of view so I decided I would answer. People replied to my comment so I answered back. That is honestly why I am here.

The important thing about what I said is I try to live a moral and right live, I neversaid I had actually achieved, I never will.

And if you never bother to investigate your moral precepts or soteriological bases- say, by deciding that absolutely nothing could convince you that you're wrong- then you'll never have so much as an opportunity to even get closer to a moral life. How can you be trying, if you won't even consider the possibility of changing?
