Why haven't the vast majority of scientists in these fields, who actually understand the evidence, who have dedicated their lives to study, who work with it every day, reached the same conclusions as you have?
What do you see, at your admittedly layperson level understanding, that they don't see at their expert level of understanding?
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
