Christians: Please explain the Exodus

While wondering in the desert during the exodus, it is the time when the 10 commandments are set. It also shows me the power of God.

I understand you need to believe this fairy tale to believe the rest of the fairy tale. It's a foundational fairy tale. Without it, the whole sweater unravels. I get it.

I would hope though, the fact that the expert consensus does not support the story would make you think.
