RE: Why do Christians trust the Bible?

The reason the bad and the ugly was recorded, is because the bible pushes the idea that man is flawed and needs god. So even the best men fall, except maybe for Job, Jesus' followers were kind of dumb, and so forth.
I'm pretty sure the reason the middle east is so messed up is because there was this book that said a certain group should own land that was already inhabited, and people who didn't worship Yahweh should be killed.
That doesn't really change the fact that, for better or worse, consenting adults should have the right to do what they want. Including polygamy, homosexuality, or whatever. I don't think the children of most homosexual couples will turn out any worse than children of deeply religious heterosexual christians. If you're going to avoid giving citations, it's going to be hard to prove otherwise.
