Truth is not the critical question. No, the critical question is whether the extremists have a plausible/convincing interpretation of Islam. And these stories or beheadings, rape, torture, and cooking your dinner on an apostate's head, do exist in Islam, unlike Christianity (New Testatment) or Buddhism. That means the extremist Muslims do have a plausible interpretation of Islam and that means a significant percentage of any Muslim population will be drawn to it.

Hence we have to minimise our interaction with Muslim populations (except for bombing the crap out of them if they threaten us or our allies), no matter whether the ISIS interpretation of Islam is "true Islam" or not.
