One of the biggest misconception about Islam is that it's anti-sex.
The lifestyle that the religion teaches is highly misunderstood and mixed with the teachings of other religions; too.
Love between men and women is described as a "sign of God"; you can read the verse yourselves:
And sex is mentioned elsewhere in the Quran; too, and that "men and women" are actually from the same soul:
Islam never had problem with sex; but it always had a problem with mating unbound to legal contracts that burdens society with children with no parents -from my perspective-, and with unnatural mating like homosexuality.
My reading to the verse makes me treasure sex and look at it as a sign of God, not just as a way to pleasure needs.

Quote:Sura 30, The Quran:
Sahih International
(21) And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
And sex is mentioned elsewhere in the Quran; too, and that "men and women" are actually from the same soul:
Quote:Sura 7, The Quran:
Sahih International
(189) It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, "If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful."
