The mind cannot understand this, so it can never become a true science, and those who have experienced this can only point to that which is......and that's about it.
Of course we are made of the elements that make up this universe and nothing else, we are a complex (at least by earth standards) biological machinery that can process sensory input and act on it based of multiples levels of memory and rules. My hypothesis is that the feeling of oneness that some people experience or many have a glimpse through meditation and brain injuries are nothing but a facet of our brains, like I earlier said related to what we call imagination.Probably its the state that the brain reaches when we have control over our thoughts and how sensory inputs (and internal memory based inputs) are processed. An Idle brain at rest may experience such a feeling, may be thats how are neural wiring is.
We don't need special powers or meditation to experience the oneness I feel, have you ever experienced a feeling of oneness when working with a team towards the same goals. Everyone is so geared up like clockwork that our distrust and other feelings of self preservation fade. The rest of the world vanishes with only the goal in mind, and you are part of the bigger group/team entity.
So be that, that how you experience it, I experience it differently, and I have my own language to try and explain what I have experienced, as you do also. I can never truly know what you experience, as you can never know what I experience, that is what life is. We all experience the so called world with our senses, and that is also the only thing we can ever know. The world as we know it and experience it is not the truth of what the world or cosmos truly is, there is a lot more going on than we could ever know, my world is different than yours, and everyone else's world is different than mine and yours. Its only by agreeing on what is out there that we all share the world, but we don't have to follow that conditioning, we can experience what truly is. When one truly experiences this truth, all questions are answered, not in a knowledgeable way, but in a inner recognition, that recognises itself, this what is known as Enlightenment.
