No, I'm not shocked. It's an admission of the truth about all religious beliefs. You believe because you have chosen to have faith and not because any evidence. I think that choosing to believe without evidence is stupid and irrational. There's no need to made a counter argument, because it faith isn't a argument at all. All you are saying is see I fooled myself.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
