As individual people? I don't know. My relationship with the members of the atheist forum began and exists almost completely within discussions of a subject upon which we are diametrically opposed and highly passionate. So there's a lot of anger and condescension. On a personal level I imagine that within a different context I'd get along well with some of you and struggle to get along with others.

We also live in a culture often unable to differentiate between criticism and hatred. If I make the statement: homosexuality is morally wrong, often people assume I hate homosexuals. Yet if I make the statement: 'adultery is wrong', people don't assume I hate adulterers. In some situations of criticism, the 'hatred' is all in the atheist's head.

Christ was continually talking about false teachers and the book of Jude is written in opposition to so-called preachers who use the Gospel as a means of financial gain.
You are right to observe that the Christian community should be more vocal in opposing heretical teaching.
thank you.
