What..the hell are you babbling about?

Back in the seventies, a downward cooling trend led to speculation of an upcoming ice age. Though not well-supported in the scientific community (about 10% of papers on the matter predicted cooling while most papers predicted future warming), the media loved it, and the idea made it into a lot of newspaper and magazine articles for a few years. This is the first I've ever heard of it being taught in school, though I can see it as a topic for a report.

Remembering that was one of the things that led me to be resistant to the idea of global warming at first: I thought it was just another 'climate panic'.
