I am just taking what is and explaining it in such a way so the non dr's Of theology can get an idea of what is being described in the texts. Apart from the traditional bespin/ESB (city in the clouds) pov.
It just depends on which brand of science you subscribe to.
Even if you subscribe to the Big Bang and subscribe to the expansion and eventual contraction of the debris from the Big Bang, space still continues to exist beyond that last fragment of the debris from the big bang. There is nothing that says that matter ceases to exist beyond that last fragment, or there is a wall where our reality ends. therefore the universe or its potential is indeed infinite.
