With only two rules of "loving god" and "loving fellow man", everything else in the bible becomes pointless. Every other religion teaches the same thing. One of the tenets of modern theism is that different religions simply provide different interpretations of the same god and all prescribed forms of "worship and love" are equally valid.
What you need here is a third rule stating "god is to be interpreted by the bible" - but that would negate your point about worshiping him in ways true to unique gifts and capacities.
