This "why?" presupposes some intelligence that thought up the Universe and then proceeded to create it.
If you want some form of honest discussion, please refrain from posing loaded questions.
If you'll pardon me, I'm new to all this and I'm still navigating what is and is not considered constructive. I wanted to know how the atheist community responded to this question, I meant no offense.
The answer is that they don't know. Then they'll say that it doesn't really matter why, so it's stupid to try to understand why. I myself believe the why is a very important question. If you ask how something came from nothing or something always existed and was never created, they also will try to explain that "nothing" is really not "nothing". Then the debate over the meaning of "nothing" will ensue. I always thought that the definition of "nothing" is a given. It just goes around and around and probably always will.
