Jeeze.. the whole (Is that a funny?) lopped off ear and regrowing thing... Involving a Roman soldier, no less....
And the world at large at the time seems to have forgotten about it?
Heck! Why didn't all the soldiers, right there and then, give up being soldiers and following Roman codes and become followers of some one who bloody obviously (Was that another funny?) can do wondrous things?
I am having a very hard time seeing this tale as something other than a fable/allegory/(Insert fancy literature term here).

I don't remember the ear thing in the Roman Catholic school teachings.... ?
