Would love to give him the benefit of the doubt in this manner, but eugenics is too misplaced for the assumed purpose. Instead he should have found another literary faux pas (perahps even with a reference to Lamarck), or at least something that invokes the concept of dishonesty.
Considering Chad's beliefs, God is the one practicing eugenics; Darwin is just pointing it out.
I think he urgently needs to clarify here
