Errrm, so how is this "god" different from what we understand by the "universe"? Is the universe sentient? Did the universe send out contradictory messages to different people in different geological positions which led to all the contradictory religions? If the universe is sentient enough, why did it make so many mistakes in our "design", with all the dead planets, deadly asteroids, e.t.c?

the only mistake is your EXPECTATIONS of what God is.
God is THAT WHICH EXISTS.
The REAL debate is exactly that is the Universe SENTIENT!!

If so by what means should we attempt communication and in what forms/frequencies/TIME-SCALE can we expect responses and in WHAT LANGUAGE?

IF the authors of the ancient religious texts were correct then YES the Universe is Alive and Sentient. If they were wrong well the UNIVERSE still exists... we STILL need a CONCEPT of GOD to COMMUNICATE with each other...
that concept is defined by pretty much every religious text ever written in any culture in any period of history.
Because it is COMMON and EASY to UNDERSTAND lol
We are the very least in a field of energy that has life sustaining qualities worth studying. Perhaps it is the totality of us that makes God's brain. perhaps we are like synapses. None of use would know what the ENTIRE BRAIN is thinking.
