thank you for this
i'm sorry you can't understand a simple concept an 8 year old can understand.
Maybe read what I posted?
It's not that we don't 'understand' - We understand (sort of) what you're typing.
It's just that they sound like the thoughts of an 8 year old.
See, when I was around 8 in fact, I started to realise that the god hypothesis being presented to me was un-evidenced bullshit. A particularly fundie Xtian teacher used to talk to us about Jésus and this god thing, and I realised that they used to give a lot rhetoric, but very little (no) evidence.
It's the same with your posts. You retort with things like "well just look around you! Everything is evidence of god!", when in reality Occam's Razor demolishes that argument right off the bat.
Then you'll retort with further things like "the bible proves a god", which is circular reasoning because all the bible in fact does is claim that there's a god; it doesn't evidence it. Homer's Odyssey isn't evidence of Odysseus' adventures is it? Or indeed Odysseus himself. Why should the bible be treated any different?
Indeed, we know who wrote the Odysssey, we know who wrote the Iliad. We have no idea who wrote or indeed edited large swathes of the biblical text.
Regardless, I'm growing tired of you. Up your game. I don't what you're trying to achieve with the whole "write posts like someone who's never typed on a keyboard before", but it's pissing me off. And bad things happen to those who piss me off.
ZOMG you guys are SO ROFL!
Homers Odyssey is certainly not proof of the adventures contained therein anymore than the Bible is
but does Homers Odyssey not use LANGUAGE?
Would the LANGUAGE in Homers Odyssey therefore be INVALID since there is no way to prove that the STORY is true?
Or are the WORDS themselves just as valid as any word can be?
the Bible DEFINES Religion.
DEFINES GOD.
You can all God ANYTHING you want and say he is a great spaghetti monster as long as you are using a denotation and CONNOTATION that is in harmony with YOUR VIEW of the spirit and nature of the thing you are describing.
This is true in ANY LANGUAGE
What the Bible does is provide the CONTEXT by which we can KNOW the MEANING intended by the AUTHOR.
The quotes you so casually disregard are CLEAR EVIDENCE of the AUTHORS INTENDED MEANING!
keep trying you will get this
