I always felt bad for Ananias and Sapphira. Yes, they lied but people have done far worse and didn't drop dead because of it. Their deaths served no purpose except to convince the early Christians to give up all their property over to the church.
For anyone who thinks that Jesus is meek and mild, his time on earth was just a farce for his true nature. According to Revelation, after a great battle, Jesus will feed his enemies to the birds. Not an exactly peaceful image

With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
