There are Christians who work at universities, research institutions, and other places who are qualified to write on this subject and myriad others. However, you referenced a particular site that has one goal: provide reasons to believe in Christianity. Would they come to any other conclusions regarding the Bible's treatment of slavery than the ones they mentioned? Of course not.
And, no, you shouldn't only seek out non-Christians for opinions. Nowhere did I suggest such. I only mentioned the obvious, glaring bias of that particular site.
