I read in another account that the reason given for non-treatment is that the mother and daughter both thought that the "poisonous" chemo was more dangerous than the cancer. In addition, the mother claims to not be letting her daughter die because she intends on pursuing alternative treatment options.
I think refusing treatment is a huge mistake, but the above and the fact that the girl turns 18 in September leads me to conclude that CT should let them be.
