Your ability to extrapolate and apply information from one concept to another is amazing, GC.
The point of the OP isn't saying that Christians are purposefully brainwashing people into believing in god. It's saying that our minds are fallible and malleable, and that causes us to form memories and ideas that aren't actually true. The point is that we have to be wary about what we accept as truth, and that there needs to be some sort of method to evaluate what is real and what isn't.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
