Why do you think atheism is delusional? Were not the ones making any kind of claim. We simply reject yours. There is no evidence to support your claims and so it makes it very easy for people to reject it.
Atheists do tend to take things seriously but if you cannot take us seriously that we have looked and rejected your claims then clearly your not seeing the picture. I have looked into religion but have found it to be without science, logic or reason and also no evidence. We can't really take it anymore seriously than if the claim was of santa claws because both your imaginary friend and santa claws seem very alike. Both lack evidence and both are completely made up.
Religion is the biggest delusion on this planet. To think the world is under ten thousand years old and created by some immoral loony who can't be detected in any way and that there happens to be no evidence to say it's true, is completely delusional.
My advice - skip the story telling and get with the evidence.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
