According to catholics (using the Pope's entire statement and not the convenient soundbytes), the Pope didn't mean that atheists go to heaven. Additionally, it appears that the other vague "praise" of atheists was just more flowery PR language with no substance.

The dude hires a former Fox-news PR agent to spin his empty statements into profound "revolutionary" or "rocking the Catholic world" declarations, when he hasn't changed one iota of Catholic doctrine, hasn't changed a single catholic position, and is still harboring and facilitating sexual predators.
I agree with the -1 rating of a good person, on a scale from 0 to 5. His -1 is just filligreed in slavering press and convenient quote mines.
