First, it is obvious you know next to nothing about history. The Middle East only united under Saladin's sword and under the common cause of driving the christian invaders out. Before that they were still warring tribes and nations. And after the recapture of Jerusalem in 1187 and Saladin's death, they broke apart again just as quickly.
The fact that Mohammed united them under the same religion doesn't hide the fact that he and his religion weren't nation builders.
And let me put it friendly. If modern Western civilisation was really built on christianity, we still wouldn't have the number zero to calculate with. We still would rely on Galen's writings when it comes to medicine, since the church forbade autopsies and we would still hunt witches and have the geocentric model. It's the ones going against christian doctrine that moved the Western world forward. Foremost the brilliant minds of the Age of Enlightenment, who replaced superstition with reason.
