What are you talking about?
Do you know the difference between nationality and race?
Australian is a NATIONALITY, not a race....
Therefore, the comment of "I'm giving you a pass because you're Australian..." isn't racist.
SMH
Everyone knows the difference between nationality and race. Ethnic Australians are the Aborigenes and the other Australians are made up of mostly Europeans and Asians. Now, let us break it down into something you can understand. For you, being Australian isn't a race, ok, fair enough, it is similar to being an American or an English person. However, you stated that he was "Australian", and this is called "Indirect discrimination." According to Australian laws:
Quote:Racial discrimination is when a person is treated less favourably than another person in a similar situation because of their race, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status.
Quote:It is also racial discrimination when there is a rule or policy that is the same for everyone but has an unfair effect on people of a particular race, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status.
This is called ‘indirect discrimination’.
In short, it would be wise for you just to stop playing the victims card and then doing the same thing to others. You need to realise that Mexicans, Koreans, the Gay and Lesbian community and Atheists are discriminated more than any other group.
