If a human soul is perfect, how could it be tarnished? The ability to be tarnished is itself an imperfection.
Do you believe that God can be tarnished and made imperfect?
I see from your later comments that you imagine the soul and mind are not the same thing. I would ask, what is the difference between the mind and the soul?, but it seems more important to point out the fact that if man has a bad mind, then God made a mistake in creating people with bad minds. That also suggests that God must have a bad mind, if man is made in the image of God.
