No atheist today I would consider sane or moral would ever value the likes of Stalin or Hitler. They were authoritarians who simply replaced worship of a god with worship of a party. They had more in common with an unmovable god character than I do. I am sure Stalin and Hitler treated those who obeyed them quite well, but step out of line. Kinda like the threat the God of Abraham makes. "I will treat you well as long as you don't dissent or try to leave. "

I hate the argument from believers "If you don't believe in a god then you are saying humans are gods". NO! Humans cant be a fictional thing. They certainly can lust for power sure. That is why neither a party or state or religion should ever be blindly followed.
