Why do you think in the 50's,60's one parent could work get a new car every few years, own their own home all on one income, did they even have credit cards then?
With 2 incomes in a family nowadays, it is hard to even get by.
How and why did this all change?
It changed because capitalism is being corrupted now more than ever. If we socialize some things (here in the US where I live) some of theses problems can be resolved if executed correctly.
