Where the disciples etc were expecting the Kingdom of God to come in their lifetime but it never did? It was never called the rapture though in that book.
To be honest I don't know what denomination my parents are. They're not orthodox like CofE (Church of England); we've hardly ever been in that sort of traditional church building except for marriages and funerals, and in fact none of the churches we've been to even had their own building as far as I can remember. At the moment they go to a Baptist church that meets in a school. But I've heard other words like Pentecostal in the past and my dad is very keen on evangelical TV preachers like Benny Hinn, Billy Grayam, and Joyce Meyer.
I think Pentecost has something to do with the baptism of the holy spirit, speaking in tongues and whatnot. We used to do that at the Word of Faith churches I used to go to. If you look at my awful handwriting you might say I write in tongues. Wonder how to say fuck you in tongues.
The first time I heard somebody say Benny Hin was preaching on TV, I misheard and thought they said Benny Hill. I said get outta here. My mother and them like to listen to Creflo Dollar. That man's name is an insult to my intelligence. I guess it's wrong to judge someone by their name, but still, a televangelist named Dollar? I would have at least changed my name.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
