I see. With this many parties now, the actual results in number of seats seems to be a wild misrepresentation of the actual percentage of people supporting each party throughout the country. For example UKIP have 1 seat like I say, but they probably have at least 100 times as many votes nationwide as the Green Party, who also have 1 seat. I don't get what this premature filtering by area accomplishes. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
I guess it's an attempt to stop the result being skewed by overwhelming majorities in certain areas but... each person is a person still!
