Are we surprised? Isn't this the same guy who once complained about the "tyranny of individualism", that liberal morality was oppressive somehow?
Not as such but there are a few passages in the epistles where Paul rails against the Jews.
It's more from Christian tradition that we get the "Christ killer" myth, so well captured in Mel Gibson's movie. It's strange to me. You'd think every Christian would thank the Jews. The death of Christ was supposedly essential to salvation.
