This is just the way sports are. With American football, for example, the ordinary playing of the game results in brain damage for many of the players. And of course boxing has always been about people hurting each other, but it keeps going on as well.
Basically, as long as people watch, then there is money for it, from advertising revenue.
If you are serious about these things being an issue for you, you won't watch the games. If you do watch, you are helping these things to happen. Bitching about it online isn't going to stop it. But if people stopped watching, that would stop this sort of thing.
