Why Religion is corrupt (on a personal note)

FutureAndAHope I resent your statement that atheism is delusional when in fact the reverse is true.Atheists in general rely on evidence,logic and reason before we make statements of fact and consider them truths.Unlike religionists who put all of their trust and belief in a book that was invented by men.The bible is nothing more than a book of plagiarized pagan myths that predated Judaism and Christianity.The stories in both the Old and the New Testaments have been written and reworked to adjust to the times in which they were copied.Not to mention that the authors whose names are attributed to most of the books in the bible are in some instances non-existent or written by unknown authors who appended the names of prophets and so called disciples of Christ to give the books an air of authority.

Most of the bible stories can be found in ancient mythologies from all over the world only the places and the names change and the stories might differ in minute details.Also,lets not forget the many contradictions within the book itself and the fact that none of the original writings of scripture are extant (still in existence)in fact that bible that you read is actually a copy of many other copies.Not to mention the way the books were so called claimed as divinely inspired,once again a panel of men called the cannon read scrolls and decided amongst themselves what was of god and what was not of godly inspiration.

Lets not forget how your loving God according to the O.T. on many ocassions murdered or sanctioned the murder of thousands of people,the enslaving of women and young boys,the hostile take overs of land that did not rightfully belong to the Hebrews,and the degradation of women as inferior to men.I think I have made my point succintly and will leave this with you my friend as food for thought.

WWLD dont sweat it sweety every once in awhile you run into some people like Hope dont let it get personal.The best way to refute a christian is to show him how foolish his belief really is.I like to use the bible to tear them apart but no matter how much you show them faith in many cases overpowers reason.I just let them babble on with their tired old fairy tales eventually they tire of trying to win your soul for their fictional saviour.
