New age crap may be just as irrational as Christianity but there is no political power in it. That's the big difference. I would rather have 50 million people following a plethora of different and incompatible religions than 50 million united under a single religion. Christianity is itself fractured (thank FSM) but united enough to cause the chaos they did when they successfully took over the Republican Party.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
