My sister recently moved in and her kids brought their Xbox One, so we've been playing a lot of Halo:CE together (reliving my glory days). Well, an account I was using on the Xbox was suddenly locked, so I decided to try to buy my own account. I was prompted to enter my email address for my Outlook/hotmail account, which I did, and it connected me to an Xbox account I set up half a year ago, username NiceXtianBoy (I totally forgot I did that and had a good laugh). So, on to my question- I never purchased an Xbox Live account for that username, I just set the account up, so why did it allow me to use that name to play Halo online? Did it automatically charge me?
I also recently bought an Xbox Live account for my daughter, but that had me go through all the steps, including entering my billing information and all that. Why didn't I have to for NiceXtianBoy?
It's entirely possible, and most likely, that I just don't remember buying the full Gold membership, but I thought I'd see if anyone had another theory.
P.S. Let me know if you want to pizzown some n00bs.
