Couldn't this letter to the parents be viewed as an insult to the refugees? By writing the letter they are making certain assumptions and basically saying "Arabs can't handle themselves around our women". Many Arabs are quite liberal and progressive but they are held back by their governments.
Perhaps many of the refugees are liberal people trying to escape the Fascist Waahabi culture spreading across Arabia? Need I remind people that not all Arabs are Sunni? Percentages vary greatly by country but after Egypt, Syria/Lebanon have the biggest numbers of Christians, and then you've also go Yazidis and the Shiites. Ismaelies, a branch of Shia are quite progressive, I've heard.
