Honestly there's nowhere in the video where they say they're being persecuted, they're just saying people should be able to have their conception of marriage - Which I agree. Don't want to support gay marriage? Don't, it's your freedom. Do you want to support it? Then do it. I'm not a proponent of labelling anyone as a bigot just because they don't agree with you, otherwise my entire family and half of my friends would be bigots and I would be fighting them every fucking time we argue about something. Regardless of how anyone feels, and I know most of us support gay marriage, there's no doubt that in liberal politics circles anyone who doesn't agree with liberals is a bigot and a fascist, that's been proven over and over and over again.

I think I can fairly understand their point - And IMO this is mostly a reaction to liberal circles labelling anyone who does not agree with them as a homophobe. You can't deny that happens since it does happen at some point and ad hominems are not rare (to be fair both conservatives and liberals use them as often). People's brains work differently - I'm interested in knowing why other people think differently than me, but I can't comprehend it scientifically so it's hard for me to judge them. I may be missing something but the only thing I understand is that they're saying they can hold the view gay marriage is wrong, which is obvious in Catholicism, it's a no-brainer - The pope is against gay marriage - It's not a surprise they're promoting their agenda, it's very predictable.

Do you think that someone who is against interracial marriage is a bigot?  And is so against it that they wish for it to be illegal?

Now, what would you call someone who wants to impose his or her view on others by law, preventing them from marrying someone they wish to marry?  Is that being tolerant of others' opinions, or is it being intolerant of them?


Now, if the same-sex marriage supporters were insisting that all marriages must be same-sex by law, then, that, too, would be intolerant of others.  But I have not encountered such a person yet.  Some times one side of an issue is full of bigots, and the other side is not.  Pretending otherwise does not change the facts.
