Garbage on two counts. Firstly, god did no such thing, man was never "created" out of anything at all. Secondly, the language necessary to understand such concept absolutely did exist at the time, and if a god so chose, it could have conveyed factually accurate and valuable knowledge instead of superstitious nonsense.
Quote:What if, yes what if, God was an ET with mega-advanced technology. This ET-God abducts Mary one night while she's asleep. He uses IVF technology to grab one of her eggs. He fertilizes it with one of his ET-Godlike super-sperm (dont ask me how he got his hands on that). And then implants the whole thing back in Mary's womb.
Sometime later, while Mary's out shopping or something, ET-God shows up posing as an angel and tells Mary she is with child. Hey presto! Virgin birth! End to the mistranslation dispute.
Except that this didn't happen either, but you do love those "what if"-s...don't you.
"All you need to know to be a christian is"...very very little...in fact, knowledge is a huge hindrance. I don't accept vicarious salvation, least of all by sacrifice... They can keep it, it's disgusting to even consider the concept.
