Religion and insanity
#11
RE: Religion and insanity
My dads' own form of David Icke can be found on the radio in every state he drives through for his work: Rush Limbaugh. Can't say much as to mister Rush, as I don't listen to him anymore (when I was a kid oh yes, dad had it on). But I just see the fear in my dads' eyes, the wild 'we should do something' look that he gets when he talks about muslims--I mean, goddamnit. Goddamnit.
Then add to those thoughts, the book of Revelations: and you have yourself full on religious war in the extreme, and end of world signs left and right.

I will say however, that his religion is what keeps him alive and for that, I am thankful. His father and mother died at his fathers' hands. My dad would've committed suicide if he didn't believe that he'd be going to hell like them.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
