I wonder where people before the year 1980 got their inspiration to be violent from, violence isn't exactly a new phenomenon.
Violent games are now rightly given age ratings to indicate that they are violent. If you as a parent ignore that big fat unmissable red 18 on the video game cover you're buying for your 5 year old child, I'm openly going to question your parenting methods. If you haven't raised your children telling them that what they see in the media is mostly fiction and should not be copied just because "it's cool", I'm openly going to question your parenting methods.
It is not the job of the state to completely block adult content from being sold just in case a child gets their hands on it. That is your role as a parent to use discretion in - a) what you think your child is mature enough to see, and b) educating them about what is acceptable behaviour and what isn't, and what is fiction that doesn't reflect real life.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
